Herringbone Slacks

The front sides of these two pretty bibs are made from a pair of herringbone slacks. The fabric is super soft and since it’s so thick it’s really absorbent. Absorbency is an important trait in a bib, you know.

One of my bibs got to be part of a photo spread in the Fall 2009 issue of Jewell, a free Austin magazine about local shops and restaurants. One of the shops they featured this season is Parts & Labour. Check out pages 14 and 15 to see my bib “Charles” front and center.

I found this wonderful folk music themed fabric at a vintage store. There was a pretty big piece, and I made several bibs. Then a friend of mine saw the bibs on my blog and wanted to know where I got the fabric. She had a childood quilt with some of the same fabric. As a surprise, I sent her what I had left of the fabric. I bet she’ll make something good.
